dormancy
Hmm... we haven't been posting for some time since the last post. What's happening?
Are we being sucked into the never-ending spiral of work? Is the same thing happening to everyone in school? After RP, you see RI becoming united but for wrong reasons sometimes. The mugging atmosphere is scary at times. There are sometimes at sports finals where there are even people reading their notes to prepare for the test the next day.
Well, I don't know whether to blame these people or not. I guess the school wanted to promote continuous assessment throughout the term but somehow, their intentions do not translate into the most appropriate action on the part of the students, us. Ostensibly, there are more and more people falling asleep during lessons. The problem of studying for tests is only exacerbated by not paying attention in class. As a result, people just cram all their studying just before the test. Procrastination when it comes to doing projects also add to the workload.
Aarghh... The whole vicious cycle has started. At this juncture, a feeling of ambivalence strikes me. Where do we go from here? Next year, I'll be in RJC but having experienced to a certain extent the ill effects of RP myself, I feel sad for the future batches in RI if this vicious cycle continues on.
For now, the Voice of RIPB is planning to do a report on the Raffles Programme, hoping to convince the school admin of how the Raffles Programme is not going according what they seeked to achieve. Will they see the light then or will we just descend into this vicious cycle, never to come back up again?
